Kirsten and David’s Kingscliff Wedding

We have told the story of Kirsten and David’s Kingscliff wedding at the Saltbar and how they stayed at the wonderful Mantra resort. Now we have put together some images of the day for you to enjoy. These images are just a small sample of the many favourite wedding photos Kirsten and David have chosen for their wedding album. We really enjoy the day with our couples viewing their photographs when they get back from their honeymoon. It’s such a nice feeling to see them enjoy their wedding photos. It’s always a very relaxed day with morning tea and lunch provided.

Kirsten and David have been back to the studio to see their album design and are now very excited to receive their handmade album. They chose our landscape style album to best capture the vistas of the Kingscliff beach views. The album pages will be printed on metallic photographic paper and this will be bound in Italian leather with a die cut photo insert. We’re happy to get comments below from family and friends or those of you that are planing your beach wedding.

Gold Coast Wedding Photography – so much to choose

While our studio is based in Brisbane we are often wedding photographers on the Gold Coast. Our inner city studio allows us a quick get away to the Gold Coast to help you enjoy your wedding.

Gold Coast wedding photography has so much on offer. The golden beaches, resorts, golf clubs and the lush green hinterland gives this Gold Coast wedding photographer the opportunity to create a natural feel to your wedding day. There is a relaxed feeling on the Gold Coast that seems to weave itself into our natural style of wedding photography. Whether you would love a beach wedding or the lush green scenes with amazing views, then Gold Coast wedding photography has it all for you on your door step. Your wedding photos in one of our landscape albums on metallic photographic paper will give many of the images a panoramic feel with a brilliant feel of colour and life, just spectacular. So if your looking for a Gold Coast photographer we would love to hear your plans.

Kirsten and David’s wedding – Saltbar at Kingscliff

Kirsten and David’s wedding was set for the Saltbar which overlooks one of Kingscliff’s beautiful beaches and has Peppers Salt Resort and Spa right there for guests to stay and relax.
We wanted to be there for the whole day to capture the story and with this been a northern NSW wedding and the daylight savings time difference with QLD we decided to mix work and play and I brought my family down to stay at the resort for the weekend.

Getting down there the day before gave me a chance to meet the couple and some of there close friends and family before the big day. I always like to do this so that I can get to know people a little better, its fun and I believe makes for better wedding photos. Taking the time to talk to people and understand what they like is one of the important steps to transforming photos into portraits. I want to capture more than a likeness but a character, a feeling and their story.

I meet their wedding celebrant Jules Wood for the rehearsal for the wedding on the lawn just up from the beach. It was quite special for Jules because she is a friend and works with Kirsten. Jules was great and made this time for the couple both fun and relaxed.

The weather was in question for their wedding day but they went through the plan with Pitie the function coordinator from Saltbar Beachbar and Bistro.  Pitie was very organised and gave the couple options and recommendations. All the staff there where very helpful and with such a great atmosphere and the view from the balcony this is a great beach side wedding venue.

Their wedding day arrived and it was an early start for me to catch the boys as they prepared for a game of golf together. The weather was great as I photographed the boys getting ready at the golf course and on the 1st tee and then left them to continue their fun. The boys would have finished their golf when a huge storm hit the resort. What do they say “rain on your wedding day is good luck” well they had lots of luck. The bridal preparations were in one of the resort rooms at Mantra overlooking the ocean. While the preparations continued the girls delighted in 4 beautiful whales playing just off the coast line in front of us.

A little magic happen just as the outdoor ceremony was to be set up the skies started to clear and lawn wedding went ahead with out a hitch. The weather held for the ceremony and the photo shoot on the beach and around the resort and then the rain came done just as Kirsten and David arrived back to their reception. What a great day with great images to come. Kirsten and David will be into the studio soon to pick their favorite for their wedding album. Until then you’ll have to wait a little longer to see their images.

Looking for a great beach wedding with all the resort comforts…

Kingscliff Salt beach has Peppers Salt Resort and Spa offering resort style weddings with the Saltbar Beach bar and Bistro also been a great option. All this in a wedding location that is very close to Queensland’s Gold Coast and a very easy get away for family and friends from Brisbane.

This weekend we are photographing a wonderful couple we have known for over a year now. We really enjoyed their engagement photography session at Roma St Parklands in Brisbane and now comes the time for their wedding. We’ll be heading down there today to catch their wedding rehearsal and staying for their reception. The late night and the beach resort wedding is a great excuse to combine work with play so I’ll be bringing my family for a weekend away.

There is plenty of great photographic scenery to put into their wedding album and all around the resort. This can save you allot of time travelling to do location shoots. But if you would like to venture around the local area there is the Fingal Lighthouse which is a small lighthouse on top of rock cliffs and picturesque natural landscape. Also there is Hastings Point not too far away. With our natural style we are always looking for these natural elements with the right light for you to enjoy your photography.

Looking forward to staying for the reception and getting more of that real wedding feel to our photography that we can offer to our couples. The entertainment that has been organised is as real as they come, it’s Tuffy that plays and sings at Brisbane’s Normanby Hotel on Sundays.

Tiffany and Jordan’s wedding – The Landing at Dockside

Tiffany and Jordan collected their wedding album this week and just loved it! I remember Tiffany exclaiming “awesome” a number of times as they turned the pages.

Seeing your wedding album produced into a high quality book for the first time is an exciting moment for you and the studio team. While you view all of your images, choose your favorites and see our album design before it goes into production there is nothing like holding and sharing your moments in a printed album. For us in the studio seeing your enjoyment in your wedding album is one of our greatest rewards. Its why we do what we do. Like a sporting team has a grand final this is our grand final. We have got to know our wedding couples well in the many months leading up to their wedding. We have worked an average of 80 hours for each of our couples to create a customised experience. All of what we do is integral exceeding your expectations, from the first meeting, engagement photography, final planning, wedding photography, customising our designs to delivery your wedding photography package.

Tiffany is originally from Canada and had all her family with her for her wedding day. The bridal preparations where great fun with lots of emotion and lots of family and friends to help the wedding day start off smoothly. I must also thank the father of the bride for holding the wedding dress while balancing on top of an esky while I created my floating wedding dress shot (image posted below). Also thanks for the Canadian pin and carabiner with compass, I keep them in my camera bag. Tiffany’s wedding dress was brought in from Canada and maybe available soon here in Australia. If you would like more details just leave a comment below.

Tiffany and Jordan’s wedding ceremony and reception where at The Landing at Dockside by the Brisbane River. Wedding venues along the river are some of my favorite Brisbane wedding photography locations. They had a beautiful sunny day for the outdoor ceremony and everyone at The Landing helped to make their wedding day special. While there are so many great photography locations at The Landing we also took advantage of the stretched Hummer limousine and went over to the Brisbane Powerhouse for photos before their reception. Tiffany’s family had brought some Canadian beer out to Australia so we featured some of this in the photos at the Powerhouse. It’s these little details of a wedding that help so much to put a story to the day.

Thank you so much Tiffany and Jordan for letting us be apart of your wedding day, it’s truly an honour.
