Executive portraits can be tailored depending on their purpose. We did a few executive portraits for Headonism, a Brisbane Hairdressing salon located on Kedron Brook Road in Wilston. The first shots we took were designed to convey a professional image of the team and each individual hairdresser. But we also did some fun, playful shots which they selected for their Facebook page. These playful shots were especially suited to the social media platform they were chosen to be used on.
We asked the team at Headonism a few questions about their salon, whilst indulging in a blow-dry and hot-iron finish.
Q. Who is in your team and what are their specialties?
James is the business owner and operator who opened Headonism in Wilston in 2009. Brian and Scott are senior stylists and the three of them make up the team at Headonism. James, Brian and Scott are fully qualified hairdressers who each have over 20 years experience behind them. There are no apprentices in this salon, so they all do their own washing, blow-drying, colouring, cutting, and styling. Scott mentioned his favourite part of hairdressing was to dabble with colour while Brian is particularly good at upstyling. A “Wedding Hair Sculpturist” as Scott described him.
Q. Tell us about your salon’s name, Headonism?
It’s a play on the word Hedonism. Which, in very simple terms, is someone who strives to maximize pleasure. Our salon’s mantra is “the pleasure is yours” and we’re here to please you and to provide you with an enjoyable experience. We achieve this by really listening to our client’s wants and needs, to deliver a result that makes them happy. It’s our pleasure to provide that for them.
Q. What are the trends are you loving right now?
Volume and body is coming back. Loving seeing a bounce in hair right now. Block colour and the natural hair look is coming back as well as anything glamorous- whether it be 50’s glamour, 70’s glamour or Hollywood glamour.
Q. Do you have any specials or packages that you are currently advertising?
No, we don’t do any type of advertising, but rather we rely on word of mouth recommendations. We offer percentage discounts to any friend or family member that is recommended to us by a current client.
