Nikki and Luke were both glowing on their wedding day, with the anticipation of the arrival of a new baby girl. They started planning their wedding when a surprise pregnancy was revealed – but this didn’t change their wedding plans!  The day commenced with some weather threatening rain for a moment, but only gave a few drops and then cleared.  Clouds remaining, emanating soft light for their outdoor ceremony.

The wedding ceremony was held at a well known private garden in Yamba, with water views and those iconic Yamba bridges – a very tranquil setting for their wedding day.  The bridal party photoshoot took us to another iconic location for Yamba wedding photos; an old cut away caravan by the side of the road. Sugar cane at full height made a fantastic backdrop to the scene.  The caravan, normally full of hay bales for locals to purchase for mulch, was emptied for this occasion, allowing plenty of room for some unique bridal party photos.  With the rain increasing, we worked quickly to produce some creative light set ups to add drama and contrast.  Squeezing the most out of the last light, we captured the couple by Yamba’s lighthouse. The wedding reception was at Angourie Resort.  What a fun filled night of heartfelt speeches, dancing and great food.  Only a three hour drive from Brisbane, Yamba is one of those off-the-beaten-track locations with so much potential.
